About the project

Notes

Glulam beams crossing against a blue sky

The pavilion is a single roof of glued laminated timber resting on twelve slender columns. Underneath are a small café, toilets and an open floor that can be a stage, a market or a dry place to wait for the ferry.

Built to come apart

Every joint is bolted, not glued, so the roof can be taken down and rebuilt elsewhere. The timber comes from certified forests less than 600 kilometres away.
