About the project

Notes

White stair rising through a bright hall

Kade Housing replaces a row of empty warehouses with ninety-two homes for rent. The block steps down towards the water so every flat gets evening sun, and the brick is laid in a slightly different bond on each floor.

A garden in the middle

Above the bike store and workshops sits a raised courtyard garden shared by all residents. Wide access galleries double as balconies and places to meet.

The building is heated by a heat pump connected to the harbour water and is designed to stay comfortable through hot summers without air conditioning.
